Overview Marketing Document
Overview of the Australian Divorce Sector
An alarming number of people go through divorce every year in Australia. The same stories are repeated time and time again of how difficult it is to manage the process. The one common denominator is that the Internet is currently the best place to find information on all divorce related topics. However, not everyone is an expert at navigating his or her way through the millions web pages that are retrieved when typing “divorce” in the Google Search Engine.
i-dont.com.au has spent months researching what is needed to establish a central online service that assists all participants to divorce and can be used easily, time and time again to help them through this life changing experience.
Why is a service like the i-dont.com.au divorce directory needed?
· Latest ABS statistics show that there are approximately over 100,000 marriages and over 50,000 divorces currently in Australia; 49.7 % of these divorces involve dependant children. At the same time 8.3 million Australians in 2004 accessed the Internet every month for an average of 13 hours, representing a staggering growth in use of the Internet in last 5 years.
· Divorcing couples need a One Stop Shop to save time searching the Internet for service providers.
· There needs to be a down to earth approach to all divorce related information.

i-dont.com.au Business Purpose
i-dont.com.au is a National Directory of Service Providers specifically for divorcing parties. It is intended to also provide valuable content and discussion forums where people can interrelate and discuss common issues. It is known that when people go through a divorce they find themselves in a position of having to understand a range of issues that in most cases were the responsibility of the other partner. For instance they may need to gain a full appreciation of the financial resources on offer in order to clarify where they stand, independent to the other divorce party. This can be a difficult exercise whilst being in a heightened emotional state and not familiar with the area. Most people are ill prepared for this event and as a result end up paying solicitors rates per hour to prepare letters, responses and collate resources and valuations of assets in order to gain their share of the combined net assets.
i-dont.com.au provides information, submissions from subscribers and visitors on many subject areas of divorce; we link to government websites as the primary area to obtain standard forms and explanations of processes to be undertaken. The better informed both parties are during a divorce the better they will manage the briefing with their solicitor. The more information they can obtain to assist the solicitor the more potential to save many thousands of dollars by being prepared and aware. They are able to do a lot of the work themselves during the divorce process and by doing so will gain their own confidence and sense ofempowerment.
It is free for visitors to enter the i-dont.com.au website. Visitors can access the directory of subscribers in selected geographical areas. They then have three primary areas where they will be able to gain valuable information specifically on divorce issues.
First area for visitors is called “Get Organised”. The aim of this section is to assist with articles, links to other sites for information, provide an understanding of terms used by solicitors that may be unfamiliar, provide links to some good tools from other sites to assist in the preparation phase and even link to selected books on divorce that can be purchased online from www.amazon.com.au. This section will continually grow to be a valuable resource for visitors. All subscribers to the directory will be able to offer suggestions to improve the content in this section.
The second key area for visitors is the “Articles” area. In this area there are articles on divorce intended to be an information source for the divorce participant. i-dont.com.au endeavours to continually source high quality articles from subscribers and divorcing participants who wish to share their experiences and knowledge. This section will grow over time with a full selection of articles across many topics.
The Discussion Forums are intended be a friendly interface where participants can freely share their experiences with the aim of assisting others. This human interface is very important emotionally for divorcing participants. It acts as a comfort for people to be able to talk to someone who is going through a similar situation or someone who has gone through divorce rather than reaching out to a relative or friend who is not familiar with how difficult this time can be.
The primary purpose of the site is to provide a Service Provider Directory by geographic areas. Subscribers in each category pay an annual fee for the listing and are able to select from three promotional display page options so they can specifically promote themselves to divorcing parties. This is a unique opportunity to sell their services directly to this target market.
Example of Subscription Advertisers are:
· Family Lawyers · Finance Providers · Accountants · Financial Planners · Free Community Services ( for NFP) · Mediation · Private Investigators · Valuers · Personal Fitness Services · Counsellors · Other Support Services
We will add categories as we find the need
Listings are sorted by State and by Service. As numbers of subscribers grow, we will break state listings into smaller regions to assist viewers to find a service in their area.
There are advertising opportunities for subscribers in either the premium top banner position or the four rotating left hand side advertisements. These side advertisement spots rotate depending on number of advertisers. In this way we can offer these advertisements for a very reasonable price. A subscriber’s promotional web splash page will appear when a visitor hits their listing in the directory. There are three template options for subscribers to choose from that allow for text and graphics. This marketing page allows subscribers to promote their divorce services in a very clear and professional manner. For a subscriber who does not currently have a website, then template 3 acts like a mini version.
